Philadelphia police are investigating the "suspicious" death of a 3-year-old girl, the department told Daily Voice.
Authorities were called to a home on the 400 block of North 50th Street in West Philly at 2:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 for a "hospital case," police said.
They arrived to find the toddler unresponsive in an empty bathtub, according to the statement. She was pronounced dead at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia about an hour later, they added.
Police did not give a cause of death but noted the victim was bruised. It is not clear if they have determined her identity.
The department declined to comment further, but said the case is under investigation by the Special Victims Unit.
